THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC are New York City's most fluid source of information on NY nightclub openings, news, culture and gossip. These free forums provide a lifeline to over 3,000 registered users and tens of thousands of more casual visitors monthly. Our members include a wide range of active participants in New York City and surrounding nightlife, alternative lifestyles and niche entertainment.

"The Boards" are scoured daily by NYC club promoters, journalists and performers as well as nightclub tourists on their way to our town. They've been called "A BEST" by pundit MICHAEL MUSTO and enjoy a cult-like following among New York's demi-monde. "The Boards" are supported by advertising, members voluntary contributions and online store sales, most notably at our Amazon stores.

The Motherboards were founded in 2001 by Chi Chi Valenti as a virtual replacement for her experimental nightclub MOTHER (1996-2000.) Nearly nine years later, ranks have swelled to include hundreds of scenesters in other cities and countries who love to keep in touch - and report on their burgs. Discussions have ranged far beyond clubs for years now, with the busy GOT ISSUES? political forum and HOPELESSLY DEVOTED fan forum every bit as boisterous as the hottest party topics.

NINE YEARS OF NIGHT (S)TALKING - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MBOARDS

April 1 marks the ninth birthday of the MOTHERBOARDS and the associated QUEEN MOTHER forums, a long, long run indeed! When we started the Mboards in Spring 2001, the idea of a Clubland community online, uniting our late 20th century tribes with more recent comers, was an odd one indeed. Now, after Friendster, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter et al, the role of the Mboards has again changed, but still revolves around DISCUSSION first. Our forums on Club history and heroes, NYC Drag Stars, and so many other topics have become wikis of stored nightclub lore and culture, still being added to.

We are so proud of what has happened here, and continues to happen. Many thanks to the hundreds of folks who have helped in so many ways, and especially our Board Members, who help keep us online with their kind donations. Happy Birthday, and we look forward to All Tomorrow's Posts...

1000 STEVIES TALK ABOUT IT

Our ENCHANTED GYPSIES/ NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES NOOK Forum is the online home of NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES, the best-known Stevie Nicks fan event in the world. The 20th annual edition SISTERS OF THE MOON will be held on May 14, 2010 at the Highline Ballroom, NYC. This forum should be a beehive of posting as the show draws near, with questions, performer messages, show reviews, costume planning and all other discussions of NOTS.
